Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, December 12, according to the latest Canalys report, Chinese mainland's spending on cloud infrastructure services rose 8 percent in the third quarter of 2022 from a year earlier to $7.8 billion, accounting for 12 percent of global cloud spending. The annual growth rate has slowed for three consecutive quarters since the first quarter of 2022, falling below 10 per cent for the first time.

According to the report, the four leading cloud manufacturers in China this quarter are still Aliyun, Huawei Cloud, Tencent Cloud and Baidu Smart Cloud. After they achieved 8% growth in the quarter, the big four cloud vendors together accounted for 80% of total spending.

In the third quarter of 2022, Aliyun accounted for 36% of total expenditure after a year-on-year growth of 4%. This is the first time that Aliyun's growth has fallen to single digits.

Huawei Cloud, with a market share of 19%, is the second largest cloud service provider in the third quarter of 2022. The company's growth in the quarter exceeded the overall growth in China's cloud services spending, with a slight increase in market share.

In the third quarter of 2022, Tencent Cloud accounted for 16% of China's cloud market. Tencent Cloud remains committed to reducing loss-making projects and focusing on improving profitability.

Baidu Intelligent Cloud ranks fourth, with a market share of 9% and an annual growth rate of 12%. Baidu Smart Cloud has been growing faster than China's overall cloud market for three consecutive quarters.

According to CTOnews.com, about 60 per cent of customers from the top three cloud vendors (Amazon Cloud, Microsoft Azure and Google) in the global cloud services market come from traditional industries, according to Canalys. In the next stage, it is expected that the development of China's cloud market will also be driven by corporate customers in traditional industries. "however, one of the main difficulties facing Chinese cloud manufacturers is that they still find it difficult to persuade traditional industries to move to the cloud, especially those that are less digital."
