The Chengdu-Dawan high-speed railway is an important part of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network along the Yangtze River. The line starts from Tianfu Station in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, and passes through Ziyang City, Suining City, Nanchong City, Dazhou City, Kaizhou District and Wanzhou District of Chongqing Municipality. Access to the existing Zhengzhou-Chongqing high-speed railway Wanzhou North Station. The total length of the main line is 477 kilometers, the design speed is 350 kilometers per hour, and the construction period is 5 years.

CTOnews.com learned that the Chongqing section, which is fully under construction, is 39.6km long, including 11.5tunnels and 21 bridges, with a bridge-tunnel ratio of 88 per cent.

The railway department said that after the Chengda-Wan high-speed railway is completed and opened to traffic, it will form a convenient passenger passage for Chengdu to the Central Plains and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, greatly facilitate people's travel along the line, and promote economic and social development along the line. it is of great significance to the implementation of national strategies such as the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and the Yangtze River economic belt.
