According to the "White Paper on intellectual property Rights of vehicle networking (2022)" released at the meeting, China has become the largest producer of patents for key technologies of vehicle networking.

According to Tuyuan Unsplash white paper, as of May 2022, there have been a total of 125326 patent applications in the field of vehicle networking worldwide. The main applicants are mainly distributed in traditional car factories, automobile components enterprises, communications enterprises and Internet high-tech enterprises. In terms of the research strength of various countries, Japanese and American companies still occupy a high position; China is the largest patent producer, and some companies (such as Huawei, ZTE, Baidu, etc.) are outstanding.

From the point of view of the global flow of patented technology, China, the United States and Japan are the main technology originators and target market countries in the field of Intelligent Network Automotive. Foreign countries have more patent layout in China, while China has a relatively small number of patents overseas. The Japanese market is relatively closed and is mainly occupied by domestic technology.

In view of the development of intellectual property rights in vehicle networking, the white paper puts forward some strategic suggestions, including: enhancing the collaborative innovation capability of the vehicle networking industry to promote high-quality patent output, and comprehensively enhancing the patent protection capacity of enterprises, universities and research institutions; establish an intellectual property sharing mechanism to promote the collaborative use of industry-university-research; and establish an industry-wide intellectual property risk response mechanism.

Car networking has formed mature industrial ecology and business models in North America, Europe, Japan and other developed countries, according to the white paper. The size of the global car networking market is expected to exceed 1.5 trillion yuan in 2025.

CTOnews.com learned that in early November, PricewaterhouseCoopers released "Insight into the Development of vehicle Internet Industry". The report shows that China's vehicle Internet market is showing a trend of rapid development, and the overall market size is expected to grow from 212.6 billion yuan in 2021 to 800 billion yuan in 2026, a nearly three-fold increase in five years.
