Elon Musk, Twitter's new boss, issued a second "ultimatum" to employees on Saturday, local time, and those who leaked the company's confidential information will be prosecuted.

In an email sent to Twitter employees on Saturday, Musk wrote:

"Twitter's detailed and confidential information has been leaked many times, indicating that some people in our company continue to act in a manner that violates the company's interests and personal confidentiality agreements. I will only say once: if you deliberately violate the confidentiality agreement signed at the time of entry, you will bear full legal liability and the company will immediately seek damages."

Musk continued to write:

"occasional negligence is understandable, but breaking a promise to send detailed and confidential information to the media with the intention of harming the company will be severely responded to."

It is reported that Musk asked Twitter employees to sign a commitment by 5 p.m. Saturday.

Zo ë Schiffer, executive editor of the US technology news site Platform, obtained a copy of the email but did not post the document online, writing on Twitter: "because Twitter is doing everything it can to track the source."

The tweet from social media Heaver sparked a heated debate, with many Twitter users referring to Musk's previous comments on transparency, such as his December 3 tweet that transparency was "the key to building trust." Mr Musk has promised to make Twitter more transparent and describes himself as an "absolutist of free speech".

Twitter user Steve Holmberg (Steve Holmberg) wrote: "what happened to your promise of complete transparency?" Another user wrote: "I'm glad to see that Musk's email asking employees not to divulge information has been leaked."

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey has previously tweeted: "if the goal is to establish trusted transparency, why not just publish everything unfiltered and let people judge for themselves? including all the discussions about current and future actions? let's make everything public now!" Musk responded on Twitter: "Twitter is both a social media company and a crime scene."

Musk reportedly fired 24 Twitter employees who opposed him publicly or privately in November. Shortly after taking over the company, he laid off about half of his employees. Then issued the first "ultimatum" to the rest of Twitter: either agree to "long, intense work" or leave the company. The move led to the resignation of a large number of Twitter employees.

Twitter is facing four lawsuits from former employees accused of unfair practices in firing employees. Lawyer Shannon Reese-Riordan (Shannon Liss-Riordan) held a media conference on the lawsuit on behalf of four plaintiffs in San Francisco on Thursday. Earlier, five former employees filed a lawsuit accusing Twitter of not providing enough information before mass layoffs.

In November, Chris Kelly, an early investor in SpaceX and a former Facebook executive, said Mr Musk's "chainsaw strategy" on Twitter was unlikely to work, which "does not seem to bode well for his future".
