The person said that STMicroelectronics will produce 50,000 wafers of 18nm FDSOI per month, and then move to the next node, using the 10nm process, which will be produced in cooperation with GlobalFoundries.

CTOnews.com learned that in July this year, St and GE announced an investment of 5.7 billion euros (about 41.838 billion yuan) to build a new semiconductor factory in France. The new plant, located near the existing 12-inch 300mm fab of Crolles, will employ 1000 people and will receive substantial financial support from the French government. The target will be full production by 2026, when the annual production capacity will reach 620,000 300mm wafers.

Italian semiconductors had net revenue of $4.32 billion (about 31.32 billion yuan) in the third quarter of this year, gross profit margin of 47.6%, operating profit margin of 29.4% and net profit of $1.1 billion (about 7.975 billion yuan).
