CTOnews.com, December 9 (Xinhua)-- BYD announced that two new energy models, BYD Han and Tang, made their debut in Chile on December 7, local time, and announced a partnership with local car dealer group ASTARA to provide new energy passenger car products for the Chilean market. BYD's new energy vehicles will be sold locally in early 2023.

Five years ago, BYD launched an electric bus in Chile. At present, a total of 455 BYD pure electric buses and 50 BYD pure electric taxis are in operation in Chile.

BYD's two flagship models, Han EV and Tang EV, integrate safety, technology, performance and comfort, using a unique "Longyan" design language and integrating dignified oriental art aesthetics.

CTOnews.com learned that BYD's first all-electric bus entered Santiago, Chile in 2017, helped Chile build the largest pure electric bus fleet in Latin America by 2018, and then opened its first all-electric bus franchise in Chile in 2019.

In November 2022, BYD's 3 million new energy vehicle was officially off the line, becoming the first Chinese brand to achieve this milestone. In the future, BYD will work with Chilean local dealers to create a localized sales and service system to provide a better consumer experience.
