Adobe believes that AI can help human painters rather than take their jobs.

Adobe, a famous software company, is considering adding pictures drawn by AI to its paid gallery, foreign media Axios reported. This is the second company to formally bring AI-generated images into the charging range after the gallery website Shutterstock announced a partnership with Open AI in October this year.

Unlike Shutterstock, Adobe offers some more detailed solutions to the unclear copyright distinction in the field of AI graphics.

In addition to the need to clearly label the image as "generated by AI" as on other sites, Adobe also explicitly mentioned that contributors are prohibited from plagiarizing the work of other artists. Since it is AI painting, "plagiarism" here should refer to the generation of a picture whose composition and content is similar to the existing work.

In addition, without permission, real people, places and property cannot be mentioned in the work, and misleading or vague picture descriptions can not be used.

Paintings from Adobe Gallery as for the copyright issues that have not yet been clarified in AI creation, Adobe said that if there is a copyright dispute, the authorities will fully bear the loss of the buyer, which can be regarded as the most straightforward way to protect the interests of the buyer.

As the second company to officially include AI mapping in the commercial sector, Adobe has previously shown a relatively friendly attitude towards this area. At the Adobe Max Creative Conference held in October this year, officials demonstrated the application of AI tools to Photoshop, Lightroom and other products to assist users in their creation.

For example, for PS,Adobe, it shows how AI provides users with early design solutions for pictures, so that human users can explore different design styles more quickly.

As for the classic question, "will AI eventually replace human painters?" Scott Belsky, chief product officer of Adobe, gave a relatively optimistic answer, saying that AI is more like an assistant who can do some creative chores for human beings rather than replace human beings themselves.

But he also mentioned the copyright problems that still exist at present. One solution that Adobe is currently weighing is to use only the material in the official gallery to train AI, while the other is similar to the previous Shutterstock library, which gives the painter a certain amount of compensation when users use a specific painter's work to generate pictures.

From the fact that officials are willing to pay for copyright disputes that buyers may face out of their own pocket, it can be seen that Adobe has a more positive attitude towards AI painting, but it is clear that more time is needed to verify the delicate relationship between AI and human painters.
