CTOnews.com, December 9 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft recently released a December firmware update for Surface Duo 1 Universe 2, with the system version number 2022.817.1. Like the November update, this month's update still focuses on fixing system vulnerabilities and improving the security of the device. Therefore, no new features have been introduced in this firmware update.

CTOnews.com learned that according to Microsoft's official update log, this update contains the November Android security announcement, but no other fixes and improvements have been made to the device. It is worth noting that currently the official update log only shows that the original Surface Duo has been updated, and Surface Duo 2 has not released the December update log.

According to feedback from CTOnews.com netizens, the updated version of Surface Duo is 2022.819.16, and it brings a security update on December 1.

Users can download updates for Surface Duo / Surface Duo 2 from Settings > system updates. It should be noted, however, that users cannot be downgraded again after the update.
