CTOnews.com, December 9, the Geekbench running score platform last week exposed Apple's unreleased M2 Max chip, with a score of 1889 for a single-core processor and 14586 for a multi-core. The platform once again exposed the latest running score of M2 Max chip, with a single-core processor score of 2027 and a multi-core score of 14888.

CTOnews.com learned that the device model shown by the GeekBench running library is still "Mac14,6" and that the CPU is also Apple's M2 Max with 12 cores, but the CPU frequency in this test is 3.68 GHz instead of 3.54 GHz. The device memory used in the test is also 96GB.

For comparison, the M1 Max chip equipped with the entry-level Mac Studio has 10 cores, the frequency is 3.2GHz, the single core score is 1746, and the multi-core score is 12154. From the point of view of the score, the single-core performance is 14% faster and the multi-core performance is up to 22% higher.

It's worth noting that the M2 chip that powers the 2022 MacBook Air and the latest iPad Pro is only 11% faster than M1, so it wouldn't be surprising if M2 Max wasn't a major upgrade compared to previous generations.
