CTOnews.com, December 9 (Xinhua)-- Apple announced the latest results of its Employee Giving program in a blog post today, which has raised more than $880 million, involving more than 76000 volunteers and volunteering for more than 2 million hours. Apple hopes to make the world a better place through these plans.

CTOnews.com learned that the employee donation (Employee Giving) program has been in place for 11 years, and the blog post reads:

In the 11 years since the launch of the Apple Employee Giving program, it has raised more than $880 million for nearly 44000 public welfare organizations around the world. More than 76000 employees have volunteered, with a cumulative volunteer time of more than 2.1 million hours.

For every hour of volunteer service or a dollar donated by employees, Apple donates their charity to the same organization. In addition to volunteering and donations through the Employee Giving program, Apple has donated millions of dollars to non-profit organizations in the form of corporate grants.

In its blog post, Apple also highlighted some representative Apple employees:

In Shanghai, Tang Hairong, a member of the Apple Store retail store, participated in volunteer activities of several organizations this year, including cleaning up local rivers and helping families of children with disabilities. She also joined the Rainbow Volunteer Club, an organization designed to help adolescent women living in rural areas get guidance from mentors.

In March this year, Tang Hairong, in cooperation with the organization, wrote a letter of support to a young girl. She did not know who would receive the letter at the time, nor did she expect a reply. But in June, she received an email that deeply touched her heart.

Elyn Tang, a member of the Apple Store retail store team, is in Shanghai. Tang Hairong, an employee of the Apple Store retail store, has participated in volunteer activities of several organizations, including the Rainbow Community, which aims to provide support for young girls living in remote areas of China.
