According to reports, the satellite mainly carries out hyperspectral remote sensing monitoring applications for major needs such as pollution reduction, environmental quality supervision, atmospheric composition monitoring, natural resources investigation, and climate change research, and provides data services and support for national environmental protection, land, meteorology, agriculture, disaster reduction, water conservancy, forestry, oceanography, surveying and mapping and other departments (fields).
The hyperspectral comprehensive observation satellite launched this time is an important part of the high score special space-based system and an important symbol of realizing the high score special hyperspectral observation capability, which will further improve the self-sufficiency rate of hyperspectral remote sensing data in China.
After the successful launch of the hyperspectral comprehensive observation satellite, it will have the large width, medium and high spatial resolution long-wave infrared detection capability of the first comprehensive performance in the world, the visible short-wave wide-band hyperspectral imaging capability of the first domestic imaging spectrum resolution, and the pollution gas hyperspectral detection capability of the first domestic spatial resolution. it will also realize the first domestic satellite three-axis maneuver to calibrate the moon.

The observation width of the wide-range thermal infrared imager carried by the satellite is up to 1500km. Compared with the Landsat satellite with the same resolution in the United States, the observation width is increased by 7 times and the number of thermal infrared observation channels is doubled, which can retrieve high-precision global land surface temperature information.
② domestic imaging spectral resolution is the first visible shortwave wide-band hyperspectral imaging capability. The visible short-wave infrared hyperspectral camera carried by satellite has the highest spectral resolution of 2.5nm, which can obtain more fine spectral data and greatly improve China's ability to monitor greenhouse gas emissions such as methane, water pollution, mineral and oil and gas resources exploration.

The atmospheric trace gas differential absorption spectrometer carried by the satellite has a spatial resolution of 24 × 13km and a spectral resolution of 0.3~0.6nm, which can realize the observation of ozone, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide and other polluting gases.
In addition, in order to further improve the calibration accuracy of the visible shortwave infrared hyperspectral camera, the satellite will realize the first domestic satellite three-axis maneuver to calibrate the moon.
The satellite will form a network with hyperspectral observation satellites and atmospheric environment monitoring satellites to achieve global coverage of atmospheric environmental exploration three times a day, one global coverage of infrared remote sensing, and three days of hyperspectral and full-spectrum revisit observations in China and offshore areas. can quickly meet the needs of hot spots in the industry.
After the satellite is put into use, it will be used in ecological environment dynamic monitoring, natural resources investigation, atmospheric composition detection and other aspects, so as to greatly enhance the global air pollutant monitoring capability. China will significantly improve the regional macro-supervision ability of methane and other greenhouse gas emission point sources and water pollution emission point sources.
