OpenEuler is an open source and free Linux distribution platform that supports Kunpeng and other processors. It can fully unleash the potential of computing chips. It is an efficient, stable and secure open source operating system built by global open source contributors. It is suitable for database, big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and other application scenarios.

According to reports, Eulaceura uses Kirin Principal's Kiran desktop environment, the initial system language is Chinese, with the following applications:

Mail client: Evolution v3.38.

Web browser-Firefox: main warehouse version 98.0.2, additional warehouse version 102.0.1105 version update push-Chromium browser: main warehouse version 101, additional warehouse version 104105 update push

CTOnews.com learned that Eulaceura releases a new version every six months, with quarterly summary updates and occasional small updates. As the openEuler RISC-V software repository is more aggressive in the selection of some software versions and is in a state of rolling update, in order to maintain the stability of the infrastructure, Eulaceura will try its best to keep the software version consistent with other versions of the current openEuler architecture as far as possible, and will update through incremental updates when vulnerabilities and problems occur. When it is difficult to migrate backward, Eulaceura releases a new version.

Eulaceura uses the native solutions of the community, which can provide RISC-V lovers and learners with an out-of-the-box RISC-V experimental environment, and support the verification and landing of various community projects under the RISC-V framework. In the future, Eulaceura plans to make the systems used in different development board hardware use a unified image to achieve the purpose of hardware universal adaptation. Eulaceura can also be used as a long-running operating system candidate on RISC-V hardware.

Thanks to the foundation of openEuler, users can also start some services on the RISC-V development version, such as using Apache to start web services and MySQL to start database services. Users can also use the docker container engine to build a container image of the RISC-V architecture, or start other distributions, develop and debug, and so on.
