IT House, December 8, OPPO announced today that the second self-developed chip will be officially released at the future science and technology conference 2022 (OPPO INNO DAY 2022) on December 14. "Core Breakthrough" indicates that OPPO self-developed chip will achieve a new breakthrough in key technologies.

OPPO's second self-developed chip is about to be released as early as 2019, OPPO announced that it will invest 50 billion yuan in cutting-edge technology research and development in three years, and put forward the 3+N+X technology transition strategy in 2020, of which 3 represent the three core technologies of OPPO-Mariana, Pantana and Andes, corresponding to OPPO chip business, software engineering and cloud services, respectively.

IT House learned that Mariana MariSilicon X, OPPO's first self-developed chip, will be released at the Future Science and Technology Conference in 2021. As OPPO's first dedicated NPU for imaging, Mariana MariSilicon X uses 6nm process and has 18 TOPS computing power, which is installed in Find X5 series, Reno8 series, Reno9 series and other models.

Chen Mingyong, founder and CEO of OPPO, once said that technology companies must solve key problems through key technologies, and will continue to invest resources and use a team of thousands of people to build their own chips in a down-to-earth manner.

It is reported that in October 2019, OPPO Mariana self-research chip team was initially formed, there are thousands of people team, and is still under construction and expansion. In November 2022, Liu Bo, vice president of OPPO and president of China, revealed in an interview that shipments of Mariana MariSilicon X had exceeded 10 million, and then increased the order.
