On December 8, Elon Elon Musk has laid off thousands of people since taking over Twitter, but that doesn't seem to have affected the company's attractiveness, with its latest job message attracting hundreds of applicants.

Twitter posted about 20 pre-recruitment positions on LinkedIn, a professional social networking site, on Sunday, local time. These openings cover a wide range of engineering and design positions, from networking, iOS and Android engineering positions to product design positions. At the same time, the company has listed 11 jobs on its job search page.

However, all job advertisements indicate that these positions currently represent only "future opportunities" to work on Twitter. Twitter wrote on LinkedIn and the company's website: "Please note that these job postings are not immediate recruitment, but that job seekers are expected to submit applications in advance to get a future interview."

But surprisingly, dozens of people have applied for several of these positions. On LinkedIn, more than 500 people have submitted applications for a vacant position as a software engineer on Twitter. A Twitter spokesman did not respond to a request for comment.

Twitter has basically been in chaos since Musk was acquired. Musk has taken a number of spending-cutting measures on Twitter, including constantly ranking and firing employees, and cutting benefits such as free lunches, rest days and telecommuting.

Just last month, Musk fired thousands of people, about half of the company's employees, and more than 2000 employees resigned. Hours after he took over, he fired several executives, including Parag Agrawal, the former chief executive of Twitter.

Mr Musk then issued an "ultimatum" to the remaining employees, outlining his vision of what he called "Twitter 2.0", which would require employees to accept a "high-intensity, long-term" way of working or resign. It is reported that the move led to the departure of more than half of Twitter's more than 4000 remaining employees.

But there are signs that the trend of layoffs on Twitter is reversing. Last week, Musk shared his presentation slides, one of which read, "We're hiring."

In LinkedIn's job advertisement, the annual salary of software engineers with at least three years of work experience ranges from $142000 to $200000, while senior software engineers with more than nine years of work experience earn between $243000 and $338000. According to job site Glassdoor, the average annual salary of a software engineer in San Francisco is $108603.

Twitter employees may also benefit from the company's stock. In November, Musk reportedly said in an internal memo that Twitter employees could still get stock options as part of a "continuing compensation plan." The billionaire also said he would award an "extraordinary amount" of shares to "outstanding employees".
