CTOnews.com, December 8 (Xinhua)-- after the launch of iOS 16.1.2 on November 30, Apple has closed authentication channels for two previously available iOS versions, iOS 16.1.1 and iOS 16.1, meaning that it is no longer possible to downgrade to these versions of iOS after upgrading to iOS 16.1.2.

CTOnews.com learned that Apple usually closes the authentication channel for the old version after the new version of the system comes out to encourage users to keep the operating system updated.

IOS 16.1 is a major update that adds support for iCloud Photo Gallery and real-time events, while iOS 16.1.1 is a bug fix update.

IOS 16.1.2 will soon be replaced by iOS 16.2, which is a big update that is under testing and should be released next week. IOS 16.2 will introduce iCloud's advanced data protection features, borderless applications, Apple Music Sing Carla OK capabilities, and other new features.
