On the evening of December 7, Beijing time, Intel's self-driving division Mobileye (Nasdaq:MBLY) today released its third quarter 2022 results, the first since the company went public in October. Mobileye reported third-quarter revenue of $450 million, up 38 per cent from a year earlier. The net loss was $45 million, up 73 per cent from the same period last year. Net profit, excluding Non-GAAP, was $114 million, up 7 per cent from a year earlier.

Third quarter results:

Revenue was $450 million, up 38 per cent from $326 million in the same period in 2021.

Gross profit was $217 million, up 42 per cent from $153 million in the same period in 2021. The gross profit margin was 48%, compared with 47% in the same period in 2021. Without GAAP, gross profit was $332 million, up 31 per cent from $253 million in the same period in 2021. The gross margin was 74 per cent, compared with 78 per cent in the same period in 2021.

The operating loss was $25 million, up 25 per cent from the operating loss of $20 million in the same period in 2021. The operating loss rate is 6%, which is basically the same as that of the same period in 2021. Without GAAP, operating profit was $143 million, up 13% from $127 million in the same period in 2021. Operating margins were 32 per cent, compared with 39 per cent in the same period in 2021.

The net loss was $45 million, up 73 per cent from the net loss of $26 million in the same period last year. Without GAAP, net profit was $114 million, up 7 per cent from $107 million in the same period last year.

Performance outlook:

Mobileye expects revenue of $527 million to $545 million in the fourth quarter of 2022 and operating profit of $169 million to $184 million without GAAP.

For the whole of 2020, Mobileye expects revenue of $1.831 billion to $1.849 billion and operating profit of $637 million to $653 million without GAAP.
