According to public data from the Communications Administration of Xizang Autonomous region, Xizang has built 8099 5G base stations, of which 1439 will be built in 2022, mainly covering party and government units, hospitals, schools, residential areas and large commercial areas. at present, 5G network access has been realized in 74 counties, districts, cities and key townships.

It is reported that the number of 5G users in Xizang has reached 719000, with deep coverage of key application scenarios and basic coverage of gigabit optical fiber network in urban and rural areas. It is worth mentioning that Pumajiangtang Township, Langkazi County, the highest altitude township in the country, successfully opened 5G base stations in November this year, further strengthening the depth and breadth of mobile communication network coverage in Xizang's agricultural and pastoral areas and remote areas.

In recent years, Xizang has accelerated the expansion of 5G network coverage, optimized indoor 5G network coverage in major urban areas of seven cities, strengthened in-depth coverage of traffic-intensive areas such as transportation hubs, large-scale stadiums and scenic spots, and promoted the extension of 5G network to counties and townships; optimized 5G coverage of industrial parks, factories and mines, and promoted the construction of 5G virtual private network, so as to further strengthen the depth and breadth of mobile communication network coverage in agricultural and pastoral areas and remote areas.

Not only that, Xizang also accelerated the integrated application of 5G in education, medical and other vertical industries, and cultivated a number of 5G application demonstration projects. At present, there are many local telemedicine based on 5G signals. Through the corresponding medical services, some Xizang farmers and herdsmen can dock with front-line medical resources and experience more advanced medical services.
