CTOnews.com, December 7 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- NAND Flash and Storage Solutions announced today that its 8TB M.2 2280 SSD solution has completed the flight qualification tests required for the Lonestar Data Holdings lunar data center mission.

According to reports, the space logistics company Skycorp has chosen the SSD,Skycorp as an engineering and manufacturing partner for the lunar data center mission that Lonestar plans to complete in the second half of 2023.

CTOnews.com learned that American startup Lone Star data Holdings (Lonestar Data Holdings) plans to build an easy-to-operate data center infrastructure on the moon, to be built by Skycorp.

According to reports, in order to obtain NASA Technology Readiness Level 6 (TRL-6) certification, the 8TB M.2 SSD must pass a series of tests, including deep cryogenic and vacuum conditions on the moon. The SSD also completed the electromagnetic environment identification. In addition, the clustered SSD technology has passed the pressure and environmental tests simulating the launch of SpaceX Falcon 9.
