CTOnews.com news on December 7, data from the Ministry of Transport show that in November 2022, 52 cities in 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang production and Construction Corps opened and operated 285 urban rail transit lines, with an operating mileage of 9357 km, actually operating 2.7 million trains, completing 1.42 billion passengers and entering 850 million stations.

In November, passenger traffic decreased by 290 million, 16.7 percent, 550 million and 27.9 percent compared with the same period last year. This month, the new city of Nantong opened urban rail transit for the first time. The new operating mileage is 111.1 km, including 4 new operating lines (Nantong Metro Line 1, Tianjin Metro Line 10, Shenzhen Metro Line 12 and Line 6 branch line), and one new operating section (the rear section of Nanhai Tram Line 1 in Foshan City).

CTOnews.com learned that the Ministry of Transport said that in accordance with the requirements of epidemic prevention and control, some cities have suspended rail transit operation services to varying degrees. Among them, rail transit services of Hohhot, Luoyang, Urumqi, Taiyuan and Tianshui were suspended, while Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Chongqing, Nanjing, Qingdao, Tianjin, Zhengzhou, Dalian, Ningbo, Kunming, Hefei, Wuxi, Fuzhou, Foshan, Harbin, Wenzhou, Dongguan and other cities suspended some station or station entrance operation services. By the end of November, urban rail transit in Luoyang, Urumqi, Taiyuan and Tianshui had not resumed operation.
