In January 2022, Ji du announced that it had completed nearly US $400 million in round A financing, which was jointly increased by Baidu and Geely.

Jidu Automobile, a joint venture between Baidu and Geely, made industrial and commercial changes in June, and Shanghai Huapu Automobile Co., Ltd., which is controlled by Geely, withdrew from the list of shareholders. The legal representative of the company was changed from Xia Yiping, CEO of Jidu Automobile (CEO) to Liang Zhixiang. At the same time, Xia Yiping stepped down as director and general manager, and an Conghui, chairman of Geely Motor, also stepped down as a director of Jidu Automobile.

CTOnews.com learned that in October this year, the limited version of ROBO-01, the first model of Jidu, was officially unveiled at a price of 399800 yuan, and delivery of the new car is expected to begin in 2023. The model is positioned as a medium and large SUV, based on Baidu Apollo autopilot capability, uses vision + dual lidar autopilot solution, and is still manufactured by Geely Motor.

Previously, it was reported that Jidu Automobile's first brand experience store failed to open as scheduled due to substandard design and decoration construction. In the internal letter, Jidu Automobile said that in the initial design process, the team did not have an accurate understanding of the store construction challenges, inaccurate understanding of delivery quality standards, and inadequate preparation in advance, and failed to achieve early detection and early treatment in the actual decoration and landing process. It is understood that according to the previous plan, the first experience store of the Jidu brand should open in Shanghai on November 15 this year, and plans to enter 46 cities and complete the layout of 100 sales networks in 2023.
