CTOnews.com, December 7 (Xinhua)-- Samsung's share of the Indian smartphone market will reach 23-24% in the second quarter of 2023, surpassing Xiaomi to become the most popular mobile phone maker in India, according to Faisal Kawoosa, chief analyst at TechARC, an Indian research firm. Xiaomi will be in second place with a share of 19-20%.

Kawusa believes that Samsung currently offers a wide range of 4G and 5G models for Indian consumers, and he says Xiaomi is less attractive in the Indian market because of higher prices in the Indian market. Khausa believes that in the 20,000 rupees (1691.98 yuan) price range, Indian consumers prefer Samsung to Xiaomi.

Speaking of the smartphone market next year, Techarc believes that macroeconomic problems will once again lead to a decline in device shipments. India's smartphone market is also likely to see a year-on-year decline in shipments in 2022. But IDC believes that smartphone shipments will return to 2019 shipments in 2023.

CTOnews.com learned that with the popularity of 5G in India, many Indian users are expected to buy new 5G phones in 2023, which may be a factor in boosting device sales. The average selling price (ASP) of smartphones is expected to rise due to high demand for 5G phones next year.
