In terms of power, the new Mercedes-AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE, following the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE and the new Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE, is once again equipped with E-PERFORMANCE hybrid technology from F1 cars, with a combination of 4.0L V8 turbocharged engine, permanent magnet synchronous motor and high-performance batteries independently developed by Afatbach. With a combined output power of up to 590kW (802hp) and a comprehensive peak torque of up to 1430 Nm, its extreme speed can be as high as 290km / h with the AMG driving kit.

Specifically, the new AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE features a P3 hybrid layout, with a two-speed motor and an electronically controlled limited slip differential integrated in a compact electric drive (EDU), a two-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor mounted on the rear axle, and a lightweight AMG high-performance battery above the rear axle. With the addition of AMG high-performance batteries, continuous power of 70 kilowatts and peak power of 140 kilowatts (lasting 10 seconds) can be achieved.

In terms of HPB high-performance power batteries, its lithium-ion energy storage system is independently developed by Afatbach and inspired by the hybrid technology of F1 cars, which not only has high power output frequently and continuously, but also has a lightweight design that can improve the overall performance of the vehicle. In addition, the battery also has the characteristics of fast recharge and high power density, and the battery capacity has increased from 6.1kWh in HPB 80 to 13.1 kWh in HPB 150. In addition, the new AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE front axle is equipped with the same 4.0L V8 twin-turbocharged engine as the Mercedes-AMG GT R, matched with an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed gearbox.

CTOnews.com learned that the new AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE comes standard with a L2-class driving assistance system, and officials say it will provide a DRIVE PILOT driving guidance system for L3 conditional autopilot later in the future, following the Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan and the pure electric EQS.

In terms of design, the new Mercedes-AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE is the first AMG S-Class four-door sedan with AMG family's iconic drooping cascade grille, with a silver / black AMG logo on the hood instead of a three-pronged star emblem, 21-inch AMG forged wheels and AMG side skirt plates, and a trapezoidal tail tube with a large diffuser.

Inside the car, the new AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE uses a two-wing steering wheel equipped with MBUX intelligent human-computer interaction system. As the first AMG model with Dolby panoramic sound system, the new AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE supports a 360-degree multi-dimensional sound range experience.
