CTOnews.com news on December 7, wafer foundry yesterday disclosed financial data for November 2022. Data show that UMC's revenue in November was 22.545 billion NT dollars (about 5.163 billion yuan), down 7.39% from a month earlier, the lowest in nearly eight months, but up 14.67% from a year earlier, a new high for the same period.

CTOnews.com learned that in the first 11 months of this year, UMC had cumulative revenue of 257.759 billion New Taiwan dollars (about 59.027 billion yuan), an increase of 33.74 per cent year-on-year.

UMC previously said that due to the inventory adjustment in the semiconductor industry, capacity utilization would fall to 90% in the fourth quarter, and wafer shipments would be reduced by about 10%, but the average selling price of the product would be the same as in the third quarter.

For comparison, UMC's October operation received NT $24.344 billion (about 5.575 billion yuan), up 27.07 per cent from a year earlier and down 3.46 per cent from a month earlier.
