CTOnews.com, Dec. 7 (Reuters)-chipmaker TSMC expected annual revenue of $10 billion (about 69.7 billion yuan) when two planned chip manufacturing plants in Arizona start production on Tuesday, local time.

CTOnews.com learned that TSMC said its planned investment in the plant had more than tripled to $40 billion (about 278.8 billion yuan). The first fab will be operational in 2024, and the second nearby fab will produce advanced chips in 2026.

TSMC said that when the two wafer plants are completed, they will produce more than 600,000 wafers a year, with annual revenue of $10 billion (about 69.7 billion yuan) and sales of more than $40 billion for customers.

Apple, Nvidia and AMD, TSMC's main customers, said they expected the chips to be produced at TSMC's new plant in Arizona.
