(hereinafter referred to as "Pingtou Brother") signed openKylin community CLA (Contributor License Agreement Contributor license Agreement), officially joining the openKylin open source community.

Pingtou, founded on September 19, 2018, is the main body of Alibaba Group's wholly owned semiconductor chip business. As a pioneer of high-performance RISC-V processors, Pingtou continues to expand the boundaries of RISC-V performance, applications and ecology, creating a rich family of RISC-V processors ranging from low power consumption and low cost to high performance and high energy efficiency, which are widely used in more than 30 fields and application scenarios, such as edge computing, wireless communications, industrial control, general MCU and so on.

According to reports, after joining the openKylin community, Pingtou actively participated in community cooperation to promote the integration and development of openKylin and RISC-V architecture. At present, Pingtou has worked with the openKylin community to complete the adaptation of the Pingtou drag 1520 SoC to the openKylin operating system, and built an image version based on the community software source.

This version contains nearly 1600 software packages, integrates a series of stable versions of the basic libraries and graphics development libraries, and runs smoothly in the UKUI desktop environment. In addition, the system contains rich openKylin self-developed software and third-party open source software, such as browser, video, audio and document editing, which can meet the basic needs of users.

CTOnews.com learned that Ali Pingtou Kotuo 1520 is a high-performance RISC-V SoC prototype based on the platform without Sword 600. its performance covers a variety of scenarios such as edge computing, artificial intelligence, image recognition, multimedia and so on.

Wujian 600 platform supports 4-core high-performance RISC-V processors with the highest frequency up to 2.5GHz, which realizes the overall optimization of CPU+XPU heterogeneous architecture; supports 64-bit LPDDR4X with the highest throughput 4266MT / s; integrates the Int8 AI computing power of 4TOPs; and the whole process meets the international security standards of GP TEE. Wujian 600 platform is expected to help chip companies significantly reduce chip development costs and risks, and significantly shorten the research and development cycle.
