CTOnews.com, December 6, Microsoft has notified Windows users that a known problem has been found in the latest "Tuesday patch" update. Microsoft says customers of Windows 10 and Windows 11 may encounter problems with applications that use ODBC connections (sqlsrv32.dll) to access databases. The affected program may display the following error.

"the EMS system encountered" with "problem information. [Microsoft] [ODBC SQL Server Driver] TDS stream protocol error, or Message: [Microsoft] [ODBC SQL Server Driver] obtained unknown token from SQL Server."

According to Microsoft's official Windows Health Dashboard documentation, the error Bug affected client and server versions of Windows 7, 8.1, 10 and 11. There is no temporary solution, so affected customers will have to wait for upcoming updates to solve the problem.

At the same time, if the user wants to know if the computer contains applications affected by the error Bug, run any program that uses the database, then open a command prompt and run the tasklist / m / sqlsrv32.dll command. Interestingly, this is not the only error, Bug, that causes problems with applications in Windows. A few days ago, Microsoft reported fixing a problem that caused applications to freeze when they changed the IME input framework on Windows 11.

CTOnews.com learned that Microsoft also recently released an optional cumulative update KB5020044 for Windows 11 users, making it possible to enable some upcoming "Moment 2" updates on Windows 11 22H2 (2022 update) stable version.
