On December 6, the company faced a number of legal incidents as a result of massive layoffs after Elon Elon Musk took over Twitter. Some of the laid-off employees complained that the company actually paid less severance pay than promised, while others complained that they had been retaliated by the company for exercising protected labor rights.

When Twitter launched mass layoffs in early November, a class action lawsuit was filed, accusing the company of failing to give advance notice to hundreds of laid-off employees.

A lawyer in Los Angeles said on Monday that he had filed a personal arbitration application on behalf of three former Twitter employees. Three employees claimed that Twitter did not fully pay the severance payment the company had promised before the acquisition.

Lawyer Lisa Bloom said she was prepared to file hundreds of similar complaints on behalf of former Twitter employees and contractors. Unlike public litigation, arbitration is dealt with in a closed process.

In addition, Twitter was also involved in two complaints filed with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

In a case accepted by NLRB, Twitter was accused of firing an employee in retaliation for his failure to organize a strike with other employees.

The strike was planned for November 17th, but it never happened. At that time, Musk sent an email to all employees telling them that they had to accept an "extremely hard core" work culture if they wanted to keep their jobs.

Another employee complained to NLRB that he was ordered to take administrative leave because he was involved in a lawsuit and advised colleagues to protest against the company's policy of requiring employees to return to the office.

Twitter didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

Both of the complaints filed by Tuyuan Pexels to NLRB were led by lawyer Shannon Reese-Riordan (Shannon Liss-Riordan), who filed another complaint with NLRN last month and spearheaded a class action lawsuit against Twitter in court.

Lawyer Bloom, along with three former Twitter employees, publicly announced his application for arbitration on social media.

Three former Twitter employees said they had been promised in May and October that the company's severance payment would remain unchanged before and after the Twitter acquisition. They say Twitter promised to keep its job stable at a time when Mr Musk's deal to buy Twitter was repeated.

Bloom said the salaries of these former Twitter employees will continue until January 4 next year. But she said Twitter was "completely unclear" whether the salaries were part of severance pay. It is also uncertain whether they will continue to receive the salary if they find a new job during this period.

Bloom believes it may be illegal for Twitter to fire employees who are pregnant or on maternity leave. She said she was trying to get the company to implement a severance agreement, which stipulates that Twitter employees will still receive a pro rata bonus and stock for three months after leaving.

"like many tech employees, bonuses and stocks are an important part of their pay for Twitter employees," says Mr Bloom. "that's what they're stripped of. this is the promise that keeps them alive in times of turmoil."

Bloom also stressed that many Twitter employees were "tricked" into signing waivers to prevent them from filing lawsuits in open court or joining class actions to enforce agreements and labor laws.
