CTOnews.com, December 6 (Xinhua)-- Warner Brothers Discovery (Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc.) announced earlier this year that it will merge HBO Max and Discovery Plus streaming services in 2023. Citing CNBC, the new streaming service may be called "Max" after its launch. The plan was originally scheduled to launch next summer, but matters related to the merger are progressing smoothly and are expected to be launched next spring.

Executives at Warner Bros. Discovery have chosen several names for the new streaming service, and after several discussions, they have basically locked in "Max." CTOnews.com learned that the service's internal code name is "BEAM", although there is a very high probability that it will be called "Max", but it does not rule out the possibility of switching to other names, and some names are currently being reviewed by the company's legal team.

While a new service is sure to be exciting, there has been a lot of controversy around it. Warner Bros. has found that CEO David Zaslav has taken steps to increase profits in the past few months, cutting back on some HBO Max shows and even canceling the new Batwoman movie.
