CTOnews.com, December 5, according to CCTV News, Law No. 13 of the Macao Special Administrative region (MSAR) "amending Law No. 5 on the smoking Prevention and Control system" came into effect on December 5. The law makes it clear that the MSAR prohibits the manufacture, distribution, sale, import and export of e-cigarettes and tobacco products for oral or nasal inhalation, including the prohibition of carrying such products out of the country and into the MSAR.

CTOnews.com learned that violators will be fined 4000 patacas (about 3480 yuan), and if private entities or the tobacco industry break the law, they will be fined 20, 000 patacas (17398 yuan) to 200000 patacas (173986 yuan).

In addition to strengthening legislation and law enforcement, the Macao SAR Government will also continue to strengthen tobacco control publicity and education to enhance young people's ability to refuse to use emerging products such as tobacco and e-cigarettes.

"the mandatory National Standard for E-cigarettes will be implemented on October 1, and all fruit-flavored e-cigarettes will be removed from the shelves."
