When foreign media reported that a high-level Vietnamese delegation visited South Korea and held relevant meetings with the South Korean side, they mentioned that Samsung Electronics was expected to discuss the establishment of a factory in Vietnam. The Vietnamese delegation includes a large number of economic representatives, and executives from Samsung, LG, Hyundai and other large South Korean automobile groups are expected to attend the meeting, and the two sides are expected to have in-depth discussions on investment and other issues.

Lee Jae-yong, the head of the Samsung Group and promoted to executive chairman of Samsung Electronics, is expected to participate in the meeting, and foreign media have also mentioned in reports that Vietnam may propose that Lee Jae-yong invest in building semiconductor factories.

It is worth noting that Vietnamese counterparts proposed to Mr Lee three times to set up semiconductor factories in Vietnam in October 2018, November 2019 and October 2020.

Foreign media also mentioned in the report that Vietnam is seeking to attract investment from foreign core manufacturers, who have successfully attracted investment from Intel, which has a total investment of US $1.5 billion in Vietnam and has 2800 employees in Vietnam.

Samsung Electronics is currently the largest foreign investor in Vietnam. It also has an R & D center in Vietnam. It is Samsung Electronics' largest R & D center in Southeast Asia, which was completed last year. Lee Jae-yong visited the R & D center in October 2020. During a meeting with Vietnamese representatives, he revealed plans to expand investment.
