The original title: "Party A: I want to use a line chart to reflect the meaning of a bar chart in PPT. Can you handle it?" "

It just so happens that when I was brushing the psychic picture recently, I saw the following picture, which is very interesting, and it should be good to use it occasionally:

More importantly, this three-dimensional chart effect does not need to use other software or PPT plug-ins, only the effects that come with PPT can be done.

Even if you are a novice rookie, you can do it as it is with today's tutorial.

Before we begin, take a look at this picture and think: is this a line chart or a bar chart?

At first glance, it looks like a line chart, doesn't it?

A line chart is used to show the changing trend of data, but a normal line chart does not return to zero every other.

The longer you look at it, the more it feels like a bar chart, highlighting the size comparison between different data.

If we ignore the curve and just take the highest point with the data and correspond to the Abscissa one by one, will it become a bar chart?

You see, the point, is it in the form of a line chart to reflect the meaning of a bar chart in PPT?

What exactly is we do not delve into today, just think this kind of chart form is relatively new, not very common, we just know how to do it.

Don't say much, open PPT and do it together!

First, click the chart in the insert tab and select the bar chart:

After you insert a bar chart, the default effect is as follows, usually three series:

Then select the chart, right-edit the data, select the data range as Series 1, and delete the other two columns of data:

The effect of the chart is as follows:

If you directly change the chart type to a line chart at this time, it will look like the following image, with the line all the way up and unable to achieve the bending effect we need:

Therefore, we need to select the chart, edit the data again, add auxiliary data between different years, and set the data in series 1 to 0 so that the subsequent line chart will continue to return to the bottom:

After the addition is complete, the bar chart looks like this:

Next, select the chart, right-click to change the chart type to a line chart:

Then select the broken line and check the smooth line in the formatting:

When checked, the line chart looks like this:

Select the chart, add data labels, and select the direction:

After the data label is added, the effect is as follows:

Next, select the chart, Ctrl+X cut, and then Ctrl+Alt+V selectively paste as an enhanced metafile:

After pasting, Ctrl+Shift+G is uncombined twice, and the result is as follows:

Then delete the chart title, vertical axis, legend, and grid lines, leaving the following elements:

Notice that I keep the horizontal axis at this time, and this horizontal line will then serve as a reference to the auxiliary line.

Select the curve, right-edit the vertex, and select the leftmost vertex:

Adjust the control handle and move it to the horizontal guide, that is, the Abscissa:

At this point, the dynamic diagram of the curve adjustment change is as follows, and the starting point will look smoother:

Next, adjust the control handles of the other vertices on the Abscissa in turn, and press and hold the Shift adjustment handle to make the curve look smoother:

If you don't know much about editing vertices, you can expand on this article:

PPT mouse drawing knowledge overview, and how many methods and skills you do not know?

Next, hold down Ctrl+Shift and drag upward to copy a horizontal guide so that it is flush with the highest point of the curve:

Adjust the position of the curve vertices, control handles, and text again:

After adjusting the position, the transition of the curve is natural, and the change in the last paragraph is more obvious, but the whole chart is widened, so you need to compress it back after full selection:

At this point, I have deleted the auxiliary lines, changed the curve to red, and thickened the lines.

Next, you need to set up a 3D effect for the curve.

Select the curve and set the depth, light source, material, and 3D rotation according to the parameters in the following image:

The results are as follows:

As for the relationship between material, light source, angle and final effect, we don't have to memorize it, just test it a few more times.

Here is a tip, it is recommended to set the light source first, and then select the corresponding material.

As pictured above, the light and shadow of the thickness of the curve changes naturally, and the color will not be particularly dark, so you can set the light source to "soft", that is, soft light, so that the whole looks more comfortable.

When the setting is complete, draw two lines at the beginning and end with any polygon:

At this point, the main part of the chart is complete.

But it still looks weird and fake, right?

This is because the chart has changed from the previous two-dimensional to the present three-dimensional, and the three-dimensional graphics look more three-dimensional with the change of light and shadow.

Since there is a change in light and shadow on the surface of the graph, indicating that there is a light source, then there should be a corresponding projection so that the chart does not look like it appears out of thin air.

For example, in addition to the translucent effect, there is a typical feature that the soul is highlighted in the film and television, that is, there is no figure, which makes people feel that it appears out of thin air, which makes it look weirder and scarier.

In order to make this chart look more realistic, next, we will add a shadow effect to it.

Or draw with any polygon, first draw the projection shape of the first segment of the bulge downward:

Then set the gradient to a gray gradient, with the left aperture completely transparent and the right opaque:

Select the shape, cut and paste it as a picture, and click the cropping function in the picture format tab to expand the cropping range:

After cropping, cut and paste as a picture again, and then set the artistic effect to virtual in the picture format tab, with a virtual radius of 20:

At this point, the shading and blurring effects are available.

Next, place it in different positions at the bottom of the chart, resize and transparency of the image, and place it at the bottom:

At this point, this cool three-dimensional chart is finished!

What's more, when you make a chart effect, if you need to add this three-dimensional effect to other curves, you can do it quickly by simply brushing it with a format brush:

So, is today's tutorial detailed enough? You've learned it, haven't you?
