With this feature, Firefox users can run searches on the active site directly from the browser's address bar, which is available on all Open Search-enabled websites.

To use this feature, simply type Open Search in the address bar after the site has loaded. If the site supports this feature, "search method" is displayed in the list of suggestions, and then the search results page for the corresponding site can be loaded by selecting this option.

If you want to give it a try, you can enable it in Firefox by:

Load about:config in the address bar of the latest version of Firefox Nightly.

Search for contextualSearch.enabled.

Change the value of the preference to true.

Restart Firefox.

When you're done, whenever you visit a site that supports Open Search, you can type what you want to search in the browser's address bar to get load-specific results.

Currently, Firefox is basically the only browser that supports OpenSearch, but almost all other browsers have address.com/ search=% URL for search. This is done very well, it can be said to be very convenient for users, and do not have to rely on OpenSearch support.
