CTOnews.com Dec. 4--United Continental Holdings Inc. is close to an agreement to order dozens of Boeing 787 Dreamliners, sources familiar with the matter said, The Wall Street Journal reported.

An agreement between United Continental Holdings and Boeing could be reached as soon as this month, some people familiar with the matter said. If the deal is done, it will bring Boeing billions of dollars worth of revenue. According to Boeing's latest published price list, each aircraft is priced at about $300 million (about 2.109 billion yuan) before customary discounts.

The Boeing 787 is an ultra-long-range midsize passenger aircraft launched in December 2009. CTOnews.com has learned that Boeing stopped deliveries of the 787 Dreamliner in late 2020 due to production defects.

Boeing resumed Dreamliner deliveries after a nearly two-year delivery freeze after a succession of manufacturing and regulatory problems. Boeing delivered a Boeing 787 Dreamliner to American Airlines in August, the first aircraft to resume deliveries since the suspension.
