According to reports, the project implemented this time is the installation of pipe supports and hangers in the reactor building, which is the infrastructure connecting the nuclear island and the conventional island. The nuclear island where the installation project begins is the core of the entire nuclear power plant. in the follow-up, the pressure vessels, steam generators and other major equipment of the nuclear power plant will be installed in the nuclear island.

CTOnews.com learned that Linglong No. 1 is a multi-functional modular small pressurized water reactor developed by China Nuclear Corporation and with independent intellectual property rights, and it is also the first onshore commercial modular reactor in the world.

CNNC Hainan Changjiang multi-purpose modular small reactor science and technology demonstration project (small reactor demonstration project) started in Hainan in July last year, with a total construction period of 58 months. The project has become the first land-based commercial modular reactor in the world, which also marks that China is in the forefront of the world in modular small reactor technology.

According to officials, the small reactor has the characteristics of high safety, short construction cycle and flexible deployment, and can be used as distributed energy and power supply, as well as seawater desalination, regional heating, industrial heating and other uses.

It is said that Linglong No. 1 will generate 125000 kilowatts of electricity and will generate 1 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity a year after completion. At present, CNNC has built the southernmost nuclear power base in Hainan, and a number of power projects such as Changjiang Nuclear Power have been completed and put into operation.
