CTOnews.com news on December 3, according to the release of Arrow Technology, its self-developed L4 (4 meters in diameter) full-size thin-walled stainless steel liquid launch vehicle tank blasting test has been a complete success. The tank, codenamed T2.1, is about 23 meters high and weighs about 3.6 tons. It will be used in the first stage of the XZY-1 liquid carrier rocket.

This test is the first full-size stainless steel tank blasting test of medium and large liquid launch vehicle in China. By pressurizing the tank step by step (P1 to P6), the internal pressure bearing limit of the tank is obtained and loaded to P5 pressure grade product failure. This test verifies the correctness and adaptability of the tank structure design of XZY-1-1 launch vehicle, and provides strong support for the closed-loop of the overall scheme of Yuanxing-1 liquid launch vehicle; Jian Yuan technology determines the baseline of tank structure design and manufacture, which lays a foundation for the follow-up engineering application of stainless steel.

The interior of the tank is designed with ring frame truss, which is simple and reliable in structure and cheap in quality.

The stainless steel rocket (XZH-1 D1) based on the stainless steel thin-walled tank will be ignited by a 70-ton power test at the end of 2022 to verify the correctness and interface matching of the whole rocket power system.

Action2: joint thermal test of control system and engine Yuan Walker-1 (XZY-1) liquid launch vehicle control system (including servo mechanism) and first-stage engine joint swing thermal test will be carried out in early 2023.
