Introducing the latest developments in Neuralink's brain chip on Wednesday, Musk said that if one of his children suffered a serious injury, such as a broken neck, he would safely implant the chip into them.

Neuralink's brain-computer interface hopes to provide paralyzed patients with a way to communicate through ideas. The company plans to use a robot under development to embed the chip into a human skull.

"We now believe that Neuralink devices are ready for humans, so the timing of use depends on the FDA approval process," Musk said on Twitter after the Neuralink launch.

Moreover, Musk said that when the Neuralink device is ready, he plans to implant a brain chip himself. "you may be able to implant a Neuralink device now, but you just don't know it yet. I mean hypothetically. I will personally participate in the demonstration in the future." He said.
