According to the agency's report, the situation of the global NAND flash memory market in the fourth quarter is still not optimistic, demand and prices will still decline, and sales are expected to decline by nearly 20% month-on-month.

For the fourth quarter, the research institute said that most manufacturers except Samsung Electronics will be more cautious in capacity planning after the release of their results in the third quarter, in order to achieve a dynamic balance between supply and demand as soon as possible, suppliers will also reduce wafer investment and slow down technology migration.

The research institute also mentioned in the report that the surge in demand related to the holiday shopping season at the end of the year did not materialize this year, the passivity of NAND flash buyers also led to further inventory accumulation on the supply side, and the impact of production cuts on the market is not expected to have a significant effect in one quarter, so the price of NAND flash memory is still under significant downward pressure in the third quarter.

In the report, the research institute estimates that the contract price of NAND flash memory fell by at least 20% and 25% month-on-month in the fourth quarter. High inventory and falling prices will lead to a further decline in global sales of NAND flash memory in the fourth quarter.
