Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, December 2 (Xinhua) when it comes to the world's most advanced industrial robots, there are four families represented by ABB, Kuka, Yaskawa Motor and Fanako, which play an even more important role in the Chinese market. After all, China is also the largest single market in the world.
CTOnews.com learned that ABB is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, and its business covers five areas: power products, discrete automation, motion control, process automation and low-voltage products, with power and automation technology being the most famous.
ABB announced the official opening of its leading robot super factory at a production ceremony in Shanghai Pudong Cambridge today. ABB will apply its digital and automation technology to build a new generation of robots, further strengthening its leading position in the field of robotics and automation in China.
This super factory, which integrates production and R & D with fully automated and flexible production, covers an area of 67000 square meters, with an investment of US $150 million (about 1.057 billion yuan).
According to reports, the Shanghai Super Factory is another key project of the ABB Robotics and discrete Automation Division following the ABB Global Innovation and training Center for Mechanical Automation, which opened in Austria in July, and the Learning Factory opened in Berlin in September.
As one of the three major production bases of ABB robots in the world, the Shanghai Super Factory will replace the original factory to provide support to Asian customers, while the plant in Westroth, Sweden and Auburn Mountain in Michigan, USA, will continue to serve customers in Europe and America.
At present, ABB has 27 local companies in China, with about 15000 employees in more than 130 cities, and more than 90 per cent of its sales revenue comes from locally made products, systems and services.
ABB predicts that global robot sales will grow from $80 billion today to $130 billion by 2025. China is the world's largest robot market, accounting for 51% of the world's total robot installations in 2021, and the robot operation stock has exceeded the 1 million mark.
It is reported that the super factory's new R & D center covers an area of 8000 square meters and will accelerate innovation in artificial intelligence, digitization and software. ABB will collaborate with partners and customers in the new open innovation center to develop innovative solutions that unlock more possibilities for flexible automation in new areas such as logistics, healthcare, food and beverages.
