CTOnews.com, December 2, Apple announced on its machine learning blog that it will strongly support the Stable Diffusion project. In the latest release of macOS 13.1 Beta 4 and iOS 16.2 Beta 4 release updates, further optimize the performance of the Apple Silicon chip to run and render these projects.

Apple has also released a wide range of files and sample code to show how to convert the source StableDiffusion model to the native Core ML format. The announcement is Apple's biggest official endorsement of the recent emergence of artificial intelligence image generators.

CTOnews.com learned that Stable Diffusion launched in August 2022, and the AI project has gone viral since its launch. Users can enter what they want at will, and the system will automatically generate excellent art rendering works. The generation system is trained by a huge database of existing works of art, which can quickly generate novel images related to prompts.

Apple said that by further optimizing the Apple Silicon chip, the Core ML StableDiffusion model can make better use of the advantages of the neural engine in the M-series chip and Apple's GPU architecture.

Apple says the basic M2 MacBook Air can use the 50-iteration StableDiffusion model to generate an image in 18 seconds, and the M1 iPad Pro can do the same in 30 seconds.
