Dismantling shows that iPad 10 should serve the second generation Apple Pencil wireless charging coil position is occupied by the component of the lateral positioning front camera, so iPad 10 is only compatible with the first generation Apple Pencil.

The iFixit disassembly also shows that the iPad 10, like the fifth-generation iPad Air and the sixth-generation iPad Mini, provides a tab for the battery, making it easy for repair shops and customers to replace batteries. The previous iPad 9 still uses the old design, and the battery is fixed with glue.

The iFixit team disagreed with Apple's decision to solder USB-C ports to logic boards after disassembly, noting that Apple's self-service program currently doesn't provide iPad parts, manuals or tools, making it harder for customers to complete their own repairs.

Key new features include a 10.9-inch display, narrow bezel, flat edge, A14 Bionic chip, USB-C port, Touch ID power button, FaceTime camera for landscape orientation, cellular model support for 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and a new two-piece Magic Keyboard Folio accessory with a row of function keys. It starts at $449, compared with $329 for the ninth-generation iPad.
