CTOnews.com, December 1 (Xinhua)-- Qorvo, a RF solution provider, has partnered with MediaTek to secure multiple design orders to include mobile Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi routers and 5G / Wi-Fi automotive platforms.

Automotive design orders are from first-tier suppliers and will achieve 5G connectivity on the automotive platform in 2023. CTOnews.com was informed that Qorvo and MediaTek have optimized 5G automotive solutions to support more powerful security and entertainment features, including remote communications, advanced driver assistance (ADAS), autopilot, emergency call (eCall), and in-car connectivity and entertainment services. The Qorvo Automotive Connectivity portfolio enables AECQ-certified comprehensive connectivity solutions, including in-vehicle remote communications to shark fin antennas.

Qorvo also received design orders for Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6e and Wi-Fi 7 for a wide range of devices, including service provider gateways and smartphones. Qorvo combines its advanced filter and Wi-Fi integrated front-end module (iFEM) with MediaTek's Wi-Fi system on Chip (SoC) to provide an end-to-end Wi-Fi solution to improve throughput, reduce latency, and improve the quality of client connections.

For smartphones, Qorvo has received multiple design orders from original equipment manufacturers (OEM) using MediaTek chips, covering Qorvo's highly integrated portfolio of advanced cellular solutions.

Qorvo said that several reference designs are provided that combine MediaTek chipsets and SoC with Qorvo RF front-end solutions to provide superior throughput, latency, power efficiency and range. Qorvo's advanced cellular and connectivity solutions support all major wireless protocols, including Matter, BLE, Zigbee, Thread, UWB, Wi-Fi 6max 6e / 7, CAT-M, NB-IoT and 5G.
