CTOnews.com, December 1 (Xinhua)-- Apple and Foxconn will catch up with the production of the iPhone 14 Pro series in December, but will still face a reduction of 9 million iPhone units, according to Piper Sandler, a US investment bank.

Foxconn's main iPhone plant has lagged behind in the production of the iPhone 14 series. Piper Sandler, an investment bank, said that overall it would continue to "believe that Apple is still a strong brand". But the investment bank cut Apple's revenue estimate for the December holiday quarter by $8 billion.

"We have lowered our estimate for Apple, mainly because of supply chain concerns around Foxconn's main iPhone plant, where more than 50 per cent of iPhone assembly products come from, and utilization at the plant could fall to 50 per cent or less in November."

Foxconn India is also producing some iPhone, but analysts at the investment bank say this is not important. "in our view, India still accounts for less than 5 per cent of total iPhone 14 production and may only help to a limited extent at the moment."

CTOnews.com learned that the investment bank predicted that Apple would "try to catch up with production in December", but that the company would also "give priority to the production of the iPhone 14 Pro series over other models".

In addition, Piper Sandler Investment Bank also conducted a survey of American teenagers, including asking about their plans to buy iPhone. Data from October 2022 show that 88% of teenagers plan to buy iPhone phones.
