CTOnews.com December 1, Microsoft recently released a new Windows 11 Beta preview version 22621.900, adding new OneDrive notifications, fixing high CPU occupancy, and so on. Windows 11 Dev Preview 25252 adds virtual private network status, new taskbar search styles, and so on.

In addition to the new features, Windows 11 Preview 25252 also fixes a major bug in Windows 11 22H2, Bug, which results in a significant slowdown when copying large files remotely.

Although the issue was initially suspected to be related to the SMB protocol, Ned Pyle, chief project manager of Microsoft Windows Server High availability and Storage Group, later confirmed that it was a problem somewhere in the kernel and "had nothing to do with SMB or compression." As a result, the replication speed of local files is also affected. CTOnews.com learned that some users also reported that the performance impact was much more severe than initially thought.

Ned Pyle said the fix would later be available to all users in the form of cumulative updates, and reiterated that the issue had nothing to do with SMB.

The decline in file replication performance is not the only thing Microsoft has fixed recently. Microsoft also resolved the bug Bug that degraded game performance in the Windows 11 2022 update.
