CTOnews.com, December 1, according to CCTV news, the Qinglongshan tunnel of the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway is completed today, which is the first tunnel to run through the Kunming section of the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway, marking substantial progress in the construction of the main project.

The Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway is 699km long, of which the Yunnan section is 388.6 km long. It is the first high-speed railway in Yunnan province with a target passenger train speed of 350km / h. There are 53 tunnels in the section, and the ratio of bridge to tunnel is as high as 87.4%.

The Qinglongshan Tunnel is located in Chenggong District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, with a total length of 629 meters, a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour and a straight line distance of about 60 meters from the Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway.

CTOnews.com learned that the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway is an important part of the Beijing-Kunming channel, one of the main channels of the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railways in China. The line starts from Chongqing West Railway Station and connects to Kunming South Railway Station via Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan provinces.

The railway department said that after the completion and opening of the entire line, the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway will run through Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing and other provinces and cities, becoming a convenient channel for southwest China to open to the outside world and "Belt and Road Initiative" to ASEAN.
