CTOnews.com, Nov. 30, Pong (Pong), a coin-operated arcade game launched by Atari on November 29, 1972, is considered to be the grandparent of the video game industry and celebrates its 50th anniversary yesterday.

The purpose of the player in this game is to rebound the table tennis ball as much as possible and get a high score to beat the opponent.

CTOnews.com learned that Pong, developed by Atari engineer Alan Alcon, was an unprecedented success after its launch. By 1973, Atari had received 2500 orders for "Pong" arcades. The following year, Atari received more than 8000 orders.
