In 2021, the output value of leading industries in 45 national-level clusters reached 19 trillion yuan, 18 national manufacturing innovation centers were laid out and built, accounting for 70% of all national-level innovation centers, more than 1700 national-level technological innovation carriers were owned, more than 170 national-level single champion enterprises and more than 2200 national-level specialized and new "small giant" enterprises were cultivated and established. It has become an important carrier to promote the high-quality development of manufacturing industry.

Among the 45 national-level clusters, there are 13 new generation information technology fields, 13 high-end equipment fields, 7 new materials fields, 5 biological medicine and high-end medical equipment fields, 4 consumer goods fields, and 3 new energy and intelligent networked automobile fields, covering key fields for building a manufacturing power and becoming an important force leading innovation and development in key industries and fields.

CTOnews.com learned that 45 national-level clusters involve 19 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) and 3 cities with separate state plans, including 30 in the eastern region, 8 in the central region, 5 in the western region, 2 in the northeast region, and 30 in the four key regional clusters of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta and Chengdu-Chongqing, accounting for 2/3. National-level clusters have become important engines leading regional economic development.

In the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will closely focus on the objectives and tasks of cluster cultivation, innovate ideas and measures on the basis of summing up experience, form policy resultant force, accelerate the construction of provincial-national-world-level cluster echelon cultivation and development system, improve the working mechanism of central-local linkage and departmental coordination, perfect the cluster policy support system such as industry, innovation, finance, finance, region and public service, promote cluster exchange and cooperation, and promote cluster work to a new level.
