CTOnews.com, November 30, according to the global smartwatch report for the third quarter of 2022 released by market research firm Counterpoint, thanks to the strong sales performance of Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch shipments increased by 48% year-on-year in that quarter, accounting for about 50.6% of total HLOS smartwatch shipments.

CTOnews.com learned that Apple accounted for about half of the market for advanced operating system (HLOS) watches in the third quarter of 2022. However, due to the downturn in North American and European markets, Apple Watch's share in the quarter is slightly lower than in the second quarter of 2022 (54 per cent).

Samsung's shipments grew 62 per cent month-on-month with the launch of the new Galaxy Watch 5 series, while its market share in HLOS grew 5 per cent month-on-month. Noise regained the first place in the Indian market and ranked third in the global market with a year-on-year growth of 218%. Compared with the previous quarter, Fire-Boltt 's market share is flat, ranking second in India after Noise.

Huawei ranks fifth in the world, up 65 per cent from a year earlier, but shipped zero in India for the first time since 2018. Oat ranks sixth because it targets the entry-level smartwatch market, similar to Noise and Fire-Boltt. It shipped more than 2 million in the quarter.
