CTOnews.com, Nov. 30 (Xinhua)-- foldable phones, represented by Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, are rapidly gaining popularity among corporate users, thanks to improved productivity with large screens, Samsung officials said. Officials say Samsung's shipments of foldable phones to companies increased by 105% year-on-year between January and October.

Although collapsible phones are more expensive than mainstream phones and the apps are not yet fully adapted, Samsung says global shipments of foldable phones are expected to reach 16 million this year, up 73 per cent from a year earlier. In 2023, shipments will reach 26 million.

CTOnews.com learned that KC Choi, executive vice president of Samsung Electronics and head of the global mobile B2B team for MX, said: "Samsung Galaxy foldable smartphones offer opportunities for new ways of working and creativity. This rapid investment growth shows that our corporate customers need meaningful innovation to improve the productivity of their workforce."

So far, the financial services division has attracted the most foldable devices, according to Samsung. This may be because about 74% of people in the industry (based on a sample group) need to keep in touch with mobile apps, while larger screen space makes applications easier to use.
