CTOnews.com, November 29 (Xinhua)-- V Society's classic game Portal will have a free ray-tracing DLC on December 8, an improvement supported by Nvidia, which was first unveiled with Nvidia RTX 40 series graphics cards.

In addition, the Portal RayTracing DLC will also bring Nvidia DLSS 3 support to the game, allowing for a higher frame rate.

CTOnews.com learned that in the RayTracing DLC-Portal with RTX of the Portal, RayTracing modifies each level so that the light bounces and is affected by the scene's geometric objects and materials. Each lamp will also cast shadows through RayTracing, and volume raytraced lighting will be scattered in fog and smoke.

Nvidia also announced configuration requirements for the Portal RayTracing DLC, which is compatible with all graphics cards that support RayTracing, but is required for smooth play:

1080p 30 frames require RTX 3060 and above and DLSS 2

1080p 60 frames require RTX 3080 and above and DLSS 2

2160p 60 frames require RTX 4080 and above and DLSS 3
