CTOnews.com November 30 news, Tianfeng Securities analyst Guo Mingyi said that due to Foxconn factory supply disruptions and other factors, shipments of iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models in the fourth quarter of 2022 will be significantly lower than expected.

Mr Guo has cut shipments of the two iPhone 14 Pro models to 7000-75 million, up to 20 per cent lower than previously expected (8000-85 million).

Mr Guo said average capacity utilisation at factories was only about 20 per cent in November and is expected to rise to 30-40 per cent in December, CTOnews.com has learned. He said Pegatron and Luxshare received about 10 per cent of iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max orders from Foxconn, respectively, but large-scale orders would not be available until late December at the earliest.

Due to long delivery delays and inflation, Guo Mingyi believes that most of the consumer demand for the iPhone 14 Pro this quarter will directly "disappear" rather than delay. This shows that many customers who will buy iPhone 14 Pro now will not come back to order the equipment in January or later when the supply improves.

Another focus mentioned by Guo in this report is that Hon Hai / Foxconn faced lower-than-expected revenue challenges in the fourth quarter of this year, and given that Apple has diverted more orders to Pegatron and Lixun Precision, it is difficult for Foxconn to continue to be the exclusive assembler of the iPhone 15 Pro high-end models in the future.
